paratyphoid fever definition - medical
par·a·ty·phoid fever (părˌə-tīˈfoidˌ)
noun An acute intestinal disease, similar to typhoid fever but less severe, caused by food contaminated with bacteria of the genus Salmonella. Also called enteric fever.
