A genetic disease characterized by multiple neurofibromas and pigmented spots on the skin, sometimes accompanied by bone deformity and a predisposition to cancers, especially of the brain. Also called multiple neurofibroma, neuromatosis, Recklinghausen's disease, von Recklinghausen's disease.
