neuraminidase definition - medical
neu·ra·min·i·dase (no͝orˌə-mĭnˈĭ-dāsˌ, -dāzˌ)
noun An enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of terminal acylneuraminic residues from oligosaccharides, glycoproteins, and glycolipids. It is present as a surface antigen in myxoviruses. Also called sialidase.
