Mor·ga·gni (môr-gäˈnyē), Giovanni Battista 1682-1771.

Italian anatomist considered to be the founder of pathological anatomy. By collecting case histories and performing postmortem examinations, he discovered relationships between disease and physiological changes and was the first to describe the anatomical structures that bear his name.
