meth·a·nol (mĕthˈə-nôlˌ, -nōlˌ)
noun A colorless, toxic, flammable liquid used as an antifreeze, a general solvent, a fuel, and a denaturant for ethyl alcohol. Also called carbinol, methyl alcohol, wood alcohol.
