mes·o·neph·ros (mĕzˌə-nĕfˈrəs, -rŏsˌ)
noun pl. mes·o·neph·roi (-nĕfˈroiˌ) The second of the three excretory organs that develop in a vertebrate embryo, replaced by the metanephros in higher vertebrates. Also called wolffian body.
