noun The third division of the trigeminal nerve, formed by the union of the sensory fibers from the trigeminal ganglion and the motor root in the oval foramen through which the nerve emerges, and having meningeal, masseteric, deep temporal, lateral and medial pterygoid, buccal, auriculotemporal, lingual, and inferior alveolar branches.
