lingual gyrus
noun A short horizontal convolution on the inferomedial aspect of the occipital and temporal lobes of the brain, demarcated from the fusiform gyrus by the collateral sulcus and from the cuneus by the calcarine sulcus. Also called medial occipitotemporal gyrus.
