in·ter·ven·tric·u·lar foramen (ĭnˌtər-vĕn-trĭkˈyə-lər)
noun The short, often slitlike passage that on both the left and the right sides connects the third ventricle in the diencephalon with the lateral ventricle in the cerebral hemisphere. Also called Monro's foramen, porta.
