noun An enzymatic antigen detection technique that uses horseradish peroxidase to label antigen-antibody complexes in tissues and is commonly used in pathology to demonstrate hormones, unique tissue-specific antigens, structural proteins, tissue enzymes, oncofetal antigens, and microorganisms and viruses.
