im·mu·no·as·say (ĭmˌyə-nō-ăsˈā, ĭ-myo͞oˌ-)
noun A laboratory or clinical technique that uses the specific binding between an antigen and its homologous antibody to identify and quantify a substance in a sample. Also called immunochemical assay.
