hemolysin definition - medical
he·mol·y·sin (hĭ-mŏlˈĭ-sĭn, hēˌmə-līˈ-)
noun An agent or a substance, such as an antibody or a bacterial toxin, that causes the destruction of red blood cells, thereby liberating hemoglobin. Also called erythrocytolysin, erythrolysin.
