flu·ni·tra·ze·pam (flo͞o-nĭ-trăzˈə-păm)
noun A benzodiazepine drug that is illegal in the US but is used elsewhere as a hypnotic and in anesthesia. It is popularly known as the “date rape drug” because its ability to cause semiconciousness and memory blackouts has led to its association with unwanted sexual encounters.
