fer·re·dox·in (fĕrˌĭ-dŏkˈsĭn)
noun A protein found in green plants, algae, and anaerobic bacteria, containing iron and labile sulfur in equal amounts, and functioning in electron transport reactions in biochemical processes, such as photosynthesis.
