  1. A hereditary disorder characterized by polyposis of the mucosa of the colon with no associated lesions. Polyps usually form in late childhood and may cover the mucosal surface.
  2. Polyposis of the small or large intestine associated with Gardner's, Peutz-Jeghers, Turcot, and Zollinger-Ellison syndromes.
