noun- The ligament that connects the dorsal aspect of the neck of a rib to the ventral aspect of the corresponding transverse process; middle costotransverse ligament.
- The short quadrangular ligament that passes across behind the costotransverse joint from the tip of the transverse process to the posterior surface of the neck of the rib; lateral costotransverse ligament.
- The fibrous band that extends upward from the neck of a rib to the transverse process of the next higher vertebra; superior costotranverse ligament.
