  1. An artery with origin in the superior mesenteric artery, sometimes by a common trunk with the ileocolic artery, with distribution to the ascending colon, and with anastomoses to the middle colic and ileocolic arteries; right colic artery.
  2. An artery with origin in the superior mesenteric artery, with distribution to the transverse colon, and with anastomoses to the right and left colic arteries; middle colic artery.
  3. An artery with origin in the inferior mesenteric artery, with distribution to the descending colon and splenic flexure, and with anastomoses to the middle colic and sigmoid arteries; left colic artery.
