noun pl. coc·cy·ges (kŏk-sīˈjēz, kŏkˈsĭ-jēzˌ)
The small triangular bone located at the base of the spinal column, formed by the fusion of four rudimentary vertebrae, and articulating above with the sacrum. Also called tailbone.
