Can·non (kănˈən), Walter Bradford 1871-1945.

American physiologist noted for his research on the autonomic nervous system, including the “fight or flight” response induced by stressful stimuli and the effects of hormones on nerve conduction. He also invented the use of barium in x-ray studies of the gastrointestinal tract.
