ben·zine (bĕnˈzēnˌ, bĕn-zēnˈ) or ben·zin (bĕnˈzĭn)

noun
  1. A colorless, flammable, liquid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained in distilling petroleum, used in cleaning and dyeing and as a motor fuel; naphtha. Also called petroleum benzin.
  2. See benzene.
