al·kap·to·nu·ri·a or al·cap·to·nu·ri·a (ăl-kăpˌtə-no͝orˈē-ə)
noun An inherited disorder that affects phenylalanine and tyrosine metabolism and leads to the excretion of homogentisic acid in the urine. Also called homogentisuria.
