a·cy·clo·vir (ā-sīˈklō-vîr, -klə-)
noun A synthetic purine nucleoside analog that is derived from guanine and is used in the treatment of herpes simplex, herpes zoster, and varicella zoster viral infections. Also called acycloguanosine.
