a·chro·mo·cyte or a·chro·ma·cyte (ā-krōˈmə-sītˌ, ə-krōˈ-) or a·chro·mat·o·cyte (āˌkrō-mătˈə-sītˌ, ăkˌrō-, ā-krōˈmə-tə-, ə-krōˈ-)
noun A decolorized crescent-shaped red blood cell. Also called ghost corpuscle, phantom corpuscle.
