Subject Pronoun Worksheets
Confusion about subject pronouns and object pronouns is extremely common in the English language. You’d be hardpressed to find a kid in America who hasn’t heard the dreaded correction “Jim and I” when they tried to say “Jim and me.” Fortunately, there are plenty of subject/object pronoun worksheets available to help children learn to understand the proper time to use their subject pronouns (such as I, he, she, and they) and the proper time to use their object pronouns (such as me, him, her and them)
Subject/Object Confusion
Subject pronouns, such as I, he, she, they and who, should be used when the person or thing being described by the pronoun is the subject of the sentence. For example, it would be OK to say “I hit the ball” because I am doing an action.
Object pronouns should be used when the pronoun is receiving the action. For example, the ball hit me. “Me” isn’t doing anything in that sentence; instead, something is being done to “me.” You might be wondering about the pronoun “you” and why it isn’t on this list… well, that is because “you” is the easiest subject/object pronoun to use since it is the same in both forms.
