A personÂ’s attempt to remedy
a wrong perceived done to him by that personÂ’s own actions, rather than through
the legal system. Under the Uniform Commercial Code, a creditor may take
possession of a debtorÂ’s collateral upon default, if it can be done without
breaching the peace.
