The founder of a string of health care clinics and hospitals in the Western United States during the 1930s. Kaiser also led contracting consortiums that built hydroelectric power projects and owned a company that produced automobiles, Kaiser-Frazer Corp., which at one time was the fourth largest car maker in the United States.
