Juan Fernández Islands

An island group belonging to Chile, in the southeast Pacific Ocean west of Valparaíso, Chile. Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish sailor and the inspiration for Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, lived on one of the islands from 1704 to 1709.
