Jelenia Góra

(yā-lĕnˈyə go͝orˈə, yĕ-lĕˈnyä go͞oˈrä)

A city of southwest Poland west-southwest of Poznań. Chartered in 1312, it passed to Prussia in 1741 and was assigned to Poland by the Potsdam Conference of 1945. Population: 86,700.
