On October 16, 2002, U.S. Representative
Christopher John, D-LA, introduced a public sector bill called the Information
Security Act. Its purpose was to increase secure information sharing and
communications sharing among the agencies affiliated with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
On October 16, 2002, the Act was sent to the House Committee on Government
Reform. It has not been passed in this form.
