noun pl. Halakhot -·la·khot′, Halachot -·la·chot′ (-khōt, -kōt)

  1. any of the laws or ordinances not written down in the Jewish Scriptures but based on an oral interpretation of them
  2. the part of the Talmud devoted to such laws and ordinances
