The Net of 1995
The Net of 1995 definition - hacker
A 1995 movie
in which Angela Bennett, a software engineer, worked from home and had only a
few friends not in cyberspace. A male friend who sent her a computer program to
debug wanted to meet with Angela face to face, but he was killed in an airplane
crash before they could get together. Angela discovered secret information on
the computer disk he gave her, and the bulk of the movie centers on how
AngelaÂ’s life turns into a nightmare. Her personal records are erased, she is
given a new false identity—complete
with a criminal record, and she struggles to discover who did this to her and
why. The movie, among other things, shows the frightening side of identity
theft.
