Security Account Manager

Security Account Manager definition - hacker
On Microsoft Windows 2000 and NT, user account data is stored within the SAM, which is actually just one file on the disk. SAM is a primary target for crackers. Given that SAM is stored in both an original and a repair version, crackers tend to seek the “repair” version because it is not locked by the operating system.
