National Center for Supercomputing Applications definition - hacker
Created by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 1986 as one of five centers for supercomputing research in the United States. The NCSA is based at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Researchers at NCSA created Mosaic, one of the very first Web browsers, and HTTP server programs.
