Meinel, Carolyn definition - hacker
A computer security professional and engineer who has written many articles on hacking, worms, and viruses for Scientific American and is the author of several books, including The Happy Hacker: A Guide to Mostly Harmless Computer Hacking (2001) and Uberhacker! How to Break Into Computers (2000). She started the online Happy Hacker Newsletter and has been a strong advocate of bringing women into computer security.
