Distributed Computing Environment
Distributed Computing Environment definition - hacker
Uses technology from Âindustry
to provide an interoperable and flexible distributed environment that helps
solve heterogeneous, networked environment problems. The DCE was developed and
is maintained by the Open Systems Foundation (OSF). The OSF provides the source code on which all DCE
products are based. The OSF-distributed computing environment was developed
with the intent of forming a comprehensive software platform on which
distributed applications could be built, executed, and maintained. Being a
standard used in many distributed applications, the DCE protocols provide an interesting field of exploration for
those in the Computer Underground.
