Artificial Intelligence Lab definition - hacker
A very famous place, the MIT Artificial
Intelligence (MIT AI) Lab has
been at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence research since 1959. The
primary goal of the AI Lab is to not only understand the nature of intelligence
but also engineer computer
systems exhibiting some form of intelligence. The MIT AI Lab is
interdisciplinary in nature and encompasses more than 200 academics across
several academic departments. Members of the MIT AI Lab believe that vision,
robotics, and language are the critical keys to understanding intelligence. On
July 1, 2003, the MIT AI Lab merged with the Lab for Computer Science (LCS) to
become the MIT CSAIL (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab).
