wireless fidelity

wireless fidelity definition - finance
A wireless data Internet technology that lets people connect to the Internet at high speeds through their personal or hand-held devices without needing to use cables. Wi-Fi also is known by its technical name 802.11b. A newer version of Wi-Fi is called 54G, which gets its name because it can transfer data at speeds up to 54 megabits per second, which is almost five times the speed that the first Wi-Fi operated at. Another competing system that provides similar features is Bluetooth, but it does not work as well at long distances.
