vulture investor definition - finance
A type of investor who obtained notoriety during the late 1980s and early 1990s by investing in businesses that were emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy or buying debt that was close to default. Vulture investors paid very low prices for their investment and often made a significant amount of money.
