voting stock definition - finance
A share of a corporation that entitles the owner to vote on corporate resolutions, elect members of the board of directors, ratify the appointment of auditors, and vote on any other resolutions put before the shareholders. Most stocks have voting rights; however, preferred stock may not have voting rights.
