A financial organization, which may be part of a commercial bank, that acts as a trustee, fiduciary, or agent for corporations or individuals. Typical work done for individuals by a trust company includes administering trust funds or estates. Work done for corporations by a trust company includes acting as a stock transfer and registration agent and managing custodial relationships.
