triple top

triple top definition - finance
A pattern on a price chart that is characterized by three moves upward, each of which is followed by a move down that roughly equals the move up. It looks like a mountain range with three peaks. The triple-top pattern is complete only when both troughs have been broken on heavier volume and the price falls sharply. The price fall will typically equal the distance on the price chart between the triple top and the trough.
