triple bottom

triple bottom definition - finance
A pattern on a price chart that is characterized by three moves down, each of which is followed by a move up that roughly equals the move down. It looks like a mountain range with three valleys. The triple-bottom pattern is complete only when both peaks have been broken on heavier volume and the price rises sharply. The price rise will typically equal the distance on the price chart between the triple bottom and the trough.
