ticker tape definition - finance
A
system that displays stock symbols, prices, and volume information in a
scrolling manner and is displayed in brokerage offices or in other public
places. It derives its name from the loud ticking noise that these machines
made when they printed the price and volume information for the stocks in the
days before computers.
