A
statement made by a trader or hedge fund manager expressing his or her opinion
that a stock or other investment is a good buy. The statement is made without
expressly stating that the trader him- or herself owns the stock and stands to
profit if the stock price goes up. Book
is another term for a traderÂ’s portfolio of investments.
