Swiss franc definition - finance
The currency of Switzerland, which is known as a safe haven for investors. Switzerland is a politically neutral country that has not adopted the euro. If political or financial turmoil affects the United States or Europe, traders and investors often sell the U.S. dollar or euro and buy Swiss francs. Its trading symbol is CHF. Liechtenstein also uses the Swiss franc.
