Shanghai Stock Price Index definition - finance
A capitalization-weighted index of stocks on ChinaÂ’s Shanghai Stock Exchange. It tracks the daily price movement of all shares on the exchange, including A-shares, which are available only to local investors, and B-shares, which are available only to foreign investors. It began on December 19, 1990, with a base value of 100.
