Series 7

Series 7 definition - finance
A general securities license that allows the holder to execute transactions involving stocks, corporate bonds, government bonds, mutual funds, closed-end funds, limited partnerships, and options. A separate license, Series 3, is required to trade commodities. The license is issued by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) after the applicant passes the appropriate test. Continuing education require-
ments also must be met.
