Series 7 definition - finance
A
general securities license that allows the holder to execute transactions
involving stocks, corporate bonds, government bonds, mutual funds, closed-end
funds, limited partnerships, and options. A separate license, Series 3, is required
to trade commodities. The license is issued by the National Association of
Securities Dealers (NASD) after the applicant passes the appropriate test.
