self-employed income definition - finance
Income that is earned by an individual who is employed by a variety of individuals or companies that contract with the individual. Self-employment income is reported on Schedule C of the Internal Revenue ServiceÂ’s 1040 form. Self-employed people pay their own Social Security taxes.
