A custom in some industries of giving customers a discount for paying their bills early. Although the percentage discount may vary, 2 percent is often a standard discount. The invoice may say “2/10, n30,” which means that the buyer receives a 2 percent discount for paying the bill within 10 days and must pay the entire amount within 30 days.
