Reuters/CRB Index definition - finance
An index owned by Reuters Plc, the U.K.-based data and news provider. The index is calculated by the Commodity Research Bureau Inc. (CRB) and was first published in 1957. The index comprises 17 commodities that are averaged using specific months for the futures contracts. The 17 commodities are corn, soybeans, wheat, live cattle, lean hogs, gold, silver, copper, cocoa, coffee, sugar, cotton, orange juice, platinum, crude oil, heating oil, and natural gas.
